The kids have spoken! With an impressive 45% of the vote, AC Wharton is the top choice for Memphis mini-voters. Jerry "the King" Lawler received the number 2 spot in our polls, with John Willingham placing in third. For those of you who missed it, CMOM had a very impressive showing of some of Memphis' leading political and professional leaders. Special thanks to those who came to "kick it" with our wonderful CMOM kids and parents: Randy Cagle, Charles Carpenter, Carol Chumney, Wanda Halbert, Constance Houston, Dewayne Jones, Jerry Lawler, Detric Stigall, Kenneth Whalum, Jr., A C Wharton, and John Willingham. Thanks also to Joey Sulipeck of Fox 13 for hosting the candidate interviews, the Booker T. Washington ROTC for their impressive performance, all our wonderful volunteers that helped make this special day happen, and of course all of you who came out! And for more viewing pleasure, here are some pictures from Saturday:
The audience listens as weatherman Joey Sulipeck interviews the candidates. Kids even had the chance to ask their own questions.
My vote: Former mayor, CEO of CMOM, and my boss, Dick Hackett! What a cool guy.
