Ni hao!

Hey again! ("Ni-hao" is Chinese for "hello," in case you were confused!)

As I mentioned in my last blog entry, CMOM's current traveling exhibit "Children of Hangzhou: Connecting With China" is still going on until the end of May. Every Saturday, we'll be having crafts, games, and other fun stuff that will give us a peek at Chinese culture. This Saturday (April 28), we're having some very special guests: The University of Memphis's Confucius Institute will be doing a great demonstration including calligraphy, paper cutting, and Beijing opera masks. They have also graciously agreed to come back in April for a special Chinese dancing show. We are so thankful to this group for taking the time to share some unique aspects of Chinese culture! Make sure you don't miss either of these great events (dance show date TBA soon).

An extra little side note: CMOM is excited to welcome "Magic Tree House: The Musical" to the Memphis's Orpheum Theatre. Borrowed from the Orpheum's website: "Jack and Annie take center stage in this enchanting blend new musical based on Mary Pope Osborne's series. To restore joy and magic to King Arthur's kingdom, the team must get water from the Cauldron of Memory and Imagination. If they fail, Camelot will be lost, and the Magic Tree House destroyed." Show dates:
Fri, Mar 27, 2009 6:00 PM
Sat, Mar 28, 2009 1:00 PM (mat.) / 6:00 PM (eve.)
Tickets are on sale now!
